Chandigarh 22^nd July:-Representatives from ISB, Schulich School of Business, GMAC and Jamboree gathered in a city hotel Saturday night to share their views during a seminar on 'pursuing an MBA in India & Abroad'.

The seminar was organised by Jamboree an overseas education solution provider for the students and MBA aspirants who are looking at doing an MBA degree and other management programs.

The event started with a presentation on overseas education options by Pranav Gupta, director Jamboree and a founder trustee of Ashoka University and Plaksha University as well.

In his speech he laid special emphasis on how the Indian economy was poised to grow and the tremendous opportunities which would be available to professionals who had done their MBA combining it with technology. Further he also emphasised on the development of skills such as leadership, writing and speaking.

Kirthi Srivastav from the Schulich School of Business a leading business school from the University of York in Canada spoke about the strong pedigree of the business school and the interesting combination and flexibility in programs which were on offer at both their campuses in India and Canada.

Karan Narang from the Indian School of Business talked about what the Indian School Business looks at in the profile of a potential student. He shared information in regard to the application deadlines, number of years of work experience required and statistics in regard to student placement etc.

Aseem Suri, and alumnus of Jamboree and a recipient of 740 in GMAT was specially invited to share his journey with the students in seminar.

He said , whilst work experience was a mandate, it had to be of high quality. He gave important tips to the students on how to identify the correct B-Schools to apply to.

Sehar Khanna the South Asia representative of GMAC provided a good insight into the GMAT test and also provided some good tips on how to prepare for the GMAT Test taking assistance from their official website.

Chandigarh 22^nd July:-Earth Science Centre (ESC), in association with Save the Himalayas Foundation (SHF) and Walkaround India, celebrated Geo Heritage Day at Govt Museum, Chandigarh and organized a Geo Heritage Walk to create awareness about the need to protect geo heritage sites.

Dr Ritesh Arya, Geo Heritage Expert and founder of ESC, Himachal Pradesh, said that 4.6 billion years of Geoheritage of the earth's History  and its creatures is well preserved in the rocks. Chance discovery of these rocks leads to better understanding of our geological past, it's environment and paleo climatic conditions prevalent at the time of its existence at that point of time.

Narvijay Yadav, General Secretary, SHF – Chandigarh Chapter, said that geological features created by volcanism, meteoritic impact and elevation of Himalayas due to tectonic collision, climatic changes in nature and its impact in shaping the evolution and extinction of species  since its birth are all documented in the rocks . These sites once discovered and  developed  need to be preserved and protected so that the geoheritage information can be passed on to the future generations.

PC Sharma, Officer Incharge, Govt Museum & Art Gallery, Chandigarh explained about the precious rocks displayed at the Govt Museum. Dr Avita Khawas, Director, Walkaround India, guided the children at the museum.

Dr Arya, Guinness World Record holder for drilling highest borewell in the world, further said that but  geoheritage and its preservation  has been a neglected feature in the conservation landscape of India.In India, there is little realization of the significance of our geological heritage outside academia and the GSI. There is a need to develop and conserve these geological identities recognizing and understanding the scientific value of the features and landforms. Today in absence of any law for the protection of the geoheritage sites the valuable information contained in them is lost. Fossil sites mineral sites tectonic sites geomorhpolocal sites  once discovered and not noted or preserved by the authorities are lost to the construction activities of building.

Also present on the occasion were, Amit Sharma, the 'walking man' who walks 50,000 steps everyday, Satvinder Pal Singh, geo tourist and children from Vivek High School.

More than 100 Sood families from tri-city relished and enjoyed different varieties of delicious Mangoes. The families also enjoyed Tambola during the event. Mohali 22^nd July:-VR Punjab kick started 'Me Time with Doraemon' yesterday. Ongoing till Sunday, July 21 from 1 to 9 pm the event has been specially curated for children giving them an opportunity to meet their favourite character Doraemon.

The unique campaign received an overwhelming response, where in a large number of kids thronged to meet their favourite cartoon characters from the iconic cartoon series Doraemon , live. Apart from the 'Meet and Greet' with their favourite cartoon character Doraemon other characters from the series like Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo & Gian were also in attendance, interacting with children. The activity offers something for everyone. Other myriad fun activities include 'Aao karen Doraemon ki khoj', a special fun zone area amongst others.

It was a dream come true for a 9 year old Shreya, who participated in 'Me Time with Doraemon' she said that Doraemon is her favourite cartoon character because he always helps his friends by giving them gadgets according to the situation. Her favourite Doraemon gadgets are bamboo copter & anywhere door. Her dream came true to meet Doraemon just because of VR Punjab.

Santosh, father of a child who participated in the campaign said that his child is a big fan of Doraemon and he got a chance to meet Doraemon. His child was asking him to take him out on vacations, but because of his work load he didn't find time. But because of the event his child is more than satisfied.

Kids are continuing to have a blast by participating in the 'Meet & Greet' with Doraemon and are also taking home exciting Doraemon merchandise. The activity is providing a pretty picture, by children wanting to shake hands with Doraemon and parents gloriously taking pictures to capture the moment for eternity.

Chandigarh 24^th July:-रोहतक में आज आम आदमी पार्टी राज्य कार्यालय पर प्रेसवार्ता में प्रदेशाध्यक्ष पंडित नवीन जयहिन्द प्रदेश में हो रहे घोटालों को लेकर खट्टर सरकार पर बरसते हुए कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री खट्टर और भाजपा की सरकार प्रदेश में  ईमानदारी का मोड़ लिए घूम रहे है | लेकिन अब इनके एक के बाद एक घोटाले खुद माननीय हाई कोर्ट ने उजागर किये है | खट्टर सरकार की ईमानदारी का पर्दाफाश हो चुका है |

प्रदेशाध्यक्ष ने सबसे पहले हरियाणा रोडवेज के घोटाले पर सरकार के भ्रष्टाचार की कलई खोलते हुए कहा कि कुछ दिन पहले हरियाणा रोडवेज के कर्मचारियों ने हडताल की थी और आम आदमी पार्टी ने इसमें बढ़-चढ़ कर हिस्सा लिया था | तब रोडवेज के कर्मचारियों ने कहा था कि किलोमीटर स्कीम हरियाणा रोडवेज को बर्बाद करने के लिए चलाई गई और माननीय हाईकोर्ट की वजह से यह घोटाला उजागर भी हुआ है | यह घोटाला करीब एक हजार करोड़ रूपये है | अब सरकार कुछ अधिकारीयों पर कार्यवाही करके इस घोटाले को दबाना चाहती है | परिहवन मंत्री कृष्णलाल पंवार व पीडब्लूडी मंत्री राव नरबीर सिंह के विधाग सीधे रूप से इस घोटाले में शामिल है | सबसे बड़ी बात तो यह है कि इस घोटाले की फाइल खुद मुख्यमंत्री के ऑफिस से आई है| प्रदेशाध्यक्ष ने कहा कि अब मुख्यमंत्री की जवाबदेही बनती है कि वो बताये इसमें शामिल है या नही ? इस पर तुरंत कार्यवाही हो और परिवहन मंत्री का इस्तीफा लिया जाए | भाजपा सरकार पूरी तरह से बईमानी पर उतरी हुई है |

प्रदेशाध्यक्ष ने एसी –बीसी छात्रवृति  में हुए घोटाले पर भी सरकार को घेरते हुए कहा कि गरीब छात्रों के तीन सौ करोड़ खा लिए गये | जब एक ऑफिसर  संजीव वर्मा ने इस घोटाले को उजागर किया तो उसका ट्रान्सफर कर दिया |  चंडीगढ़ में जब पुलिस ने एफआईआर दर्ज की तो सरकार ने विजिलेंस को केस दिया गया | अब विजिलेंस इस घोटाले की कोई जांच नही कर रही है | मंत्री कृष्ण बेदी की सह के बिना ये घोटाला नही हो सकता |

प्रदेशाध्यक्ष प्रदेश में मीनिंग व ओवरलोडिंग के नाम पर हो रहे घोटाले पर भी सरकार की ईमानदारी का भांडा फोड़ते हुए पत्रकारों को बताया कि दादरी में सरकार मीनिंग माफिया की तरह काम काम रही है | मंत्री और ऑफिसर उगाही के नाम पर पांच हजार करोड़ तक खा गये है | जनता द्वारा बार –बार आवाज उठाने पर भी सरकार कुछ नही रही है | खुलेआम ओवरलोडिंग के नाम पर हजारों रूपये खाए जा रहे है |

नवीन जयहिन्द ने  पीडब्लूडी मंत्री राव नरबीर सिंह की डिग्री पर भी सवाल उठाते हुए कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी ने पहले भी इस पर सवाल खड़े किये थे कि राव नरबीर द्वारा चुनाव के दौरान दिया गया शपथपत्र फर्जी है |

खट्टर सरकार में थोड़ी भी ईमानदारी और शर्म बची है तो परिवहन मंत्री कृष्ण लाल पंवार, पीडब्लूडी मंत्री राव नरबीर सिंह और कृष्ण बेदी का तुरंत इस्तीफा ले |

नवीन जयहिन्द ने आगे कहा कि भाजपा सरकार सबसे बड़े घोटालेबाजों की सरकार है | शिक्षा विभाग के डायरेक्टर प्रोफेसर कोटियाला जिसे मध्यप्रदेश कोर्ट ने जिसे भगोड़ा घोषित कर रखा है उसे यहाँ पर शिक्षा विभाग में डायरेक्टर बना रखा है | एक से एक बढ़कर प्रदेश में जगजाहिर घोटाले हो रहे है |

प्रदेशाध्यक्ष नवीन जयहिन्द ने मंत्री धनखड़ की टिप्पणी पर  पर कहा कि हरियाणा के भाजपा के मंत्री अपना मानसिक संतुलन खो बैठे है जो अनाप शनाप बयान दे रहे है | अबकी बार जनता बीजेपी को 75 पार नही श्मशान पार भेजेगी | प्रदेशाध्यक्ष ने वही प्रदेश में बढ़ रहे नशे के कारोबार पर कहा कि पुलिस और प्रशासन की मर्जी के बैगर कोई चप्पल नही बेच यहाँ हरियाणा में चिट्टा बेचा जा रहा है | सोनीपत में 200 करोड़ की हैरोईन होती है और दिल्ली पुलिस  अपराधियों को उठा लेजाती | लेकिन हरियाणा पुलिस प्रशासन को पता ही चलता | भाजपा सरकार नौजवानों को नशेडी बना रही है ताकि युवा रोजगार न मांगे | अब इनकम टैक्स की रेड से भाजपा नेताओं को डरा कर भाजपा में शामिल कर रहे है | इन नेताओं ने घोटाले किये हुए है भाजपा रेड से डरा रही है | प्रदेशाध्यक्ष ने कहा कि इस सरकार को उखाड़ फेकना जरूरी है |  इस खट्टर सरकार का खुट्टा पाड़ना जरूरी है |

Chandigarh 24^th July:-After the record-breaking success of erstwhile film 'Ardaas'. It's recently released sequel 'Ardaas Karaan' produced and directed by Gippy Grewal has added another feather to its cap. It has become the 'weekend highest-grossing' Punjabi film of 2019 in international markets, over the first weekend of release. The film grossed a total of Rs. 13.12 Crores in India and overseas on the first three days. 'Ardaas Karaan' was released worldwide on July 19.

To commemorate the success of the movie, the star cast of 'Ardaas Karaan' held a press conference at Hotel Cama, Mohali. The star cast including Gurpreet Ghuggi, Yograj Singh, Japji Khaira, Sardar Sohi, Malkit Rauni, Seema Kaushal, Gurpreet Bhangu and others were present on this occasion.

 'Ardaas Karaan' which hit the silver screen on 19^th July, Friday has bagged on its opening day Rs. 3.63 cr. The content-rich story which 'Ardaas Karaan' showcased on the first day spread a positive word of mouth, which turned into a sort of 'domino effect' leading to packed theatres.  On the second day it collected Rs 4.16cr and on the third day it leapfrogged ahead by registering a whopping collection of Rs 5.63cr.

The film's performance in the international market has been epic. 'Ardaas Karaan' has raked in $3,63,176 in Canada, $2,78,561 in Australia and earned $90,707 in New Zealand in first weekend. This has made the film the highest weekend grossing Punjabi movie of 2019 in International markets.  

Gippy Grewal, the lead actor is abroad and could not participate in the press meet. However, he sent a message about the film. "'Ardaas Karaan' is a complete family film. It is about spirituality, family values, and virtues which we inculcate in our younger ones. Ever since we have entered the modern era, we find a drastic change in the values of the millennial generation. 'Ardaas Karaan' revolves around the lives of 3 old gentlemen who face some conflict of opinions with their family members. This film takes us through various emotional twists, and stirs."

The film's music is released by, Sumeet Singh owned, Saga Music. Worldwide digital and satellite distribution is being done by Unisys Infosolutions and Saga Music.

While addressing the media, Yograj Singh said that the movie is beautifully scripted and directed by a multi-talented person Gippy Grewal, who so charmingly illustrated the story of different families and their emotions in a single thread.

Gurpreet Ghuggi said that he thank the audience for appreciating the movie. The film has a rich content, which was instrumental in making it  an instant hit.

Malkit Rauni said that the story has been the main reason why the film has done so well.

 Sardar Sohi said that the film is full of family emotions. He would like to add here that the actors have given mesmerizing performances in the movie.

Japji Khaira added that a great storyline coupled with superlative acting has resulted in the audience showering so much love on the movie.

This film also marks the debut of Gippy Grewal's son Gurfateh Singh Grewal popularly called 'Shinda'. This cute young actor's performance too is bringing audiences to theatres. Sapna Pabbi, Rana Jung Bahadur and Meher Vij  also have given stellar performances.

 'Ardaas Karaan' is a Humble Motion Picture presentation, written, directed, and produced by Gippy Grewal, co-produced by Ravneet Kaur Grewal. The film's dialogues have been written by Rana Ranbir, who has also along with Gippy Grewal written the film's story and screenplay. Another USP of the film is that famous Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan has given her voice to a song in the film.

Radaur 24^th July:-As many as 78 people were screened in a free knee & joint replacement camp by Alchemist Hospital Panchkula at Rama Nursing Home, Radaur on Wednesday. The camp was organized in association of Rotary Club, Radaur.

Wearing an appropriate helmet improves their chances of survival by 42% and helps avoid 69% of injuries to riders.

Sharing his views Dr Ajay Bisht said that India is amongst the World Leader in Road Traffic deaths". In India, over 78% of vehicles on the road are two-wheelers and they account for about 29 % of road accidents. Brain is one of the most sensitive organ of our body which comes under impact in any road accident. Wearing a good helmet and tying it properly can prevent loss of lives in 90 percent of accident cases.

Chandigarh 25^th July:-PGIMER's National workshop on Vaccinology witnessed a league of visionaries discussed about the need and challenges in vaccine introduction in India. Dr. Madhu Gupta, Professor, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, course coordinator emphasized that this national level workshop goes a long way to meet the objective of creating awareness regarding need of introducing effective vaccines in the national immunization schedule in India. 

Dr Gagandeep Kang, Executive Director, Translational Health and Science Technology in India and Professor, Department of Gastrointestinal Sciences, CMC, Vellore said that there are many vaccines that are not in the National Immunization Program even though the disease burden exists like Typhoid. This gap is usually filled by prioritization and decision-making in the introduction of vaccines.

Dr Disha Patani from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, briefed the audience about recent updates like introduction of pneumococcal vaccine to prevent pneumonia, rotavirus vaccine to prevent severe rotavirus related diarrhea in the India.

Dr. Pankaj Bhatnagar, Technical officer-Immunization, WHO, highlighted that the need to strengthen the urban immunization in the cities with slum population.

Dr Suresh Dalpath Deputy Director, Public Health Planning and M & E Haryana and Dr. Rajesh Bhaskar, Program Officer-Injection Safety, Department of Health and Family Welfare, shared their experiences on introduction of pneumococcal vaccine human papilloma virus vaccine in Haryana and Punjab respectively.

Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Country lead, Health Policy, India, Bill & Malinda Gates Foundation commented upon innovations on data tools, supply chain and delivery.

Dr. Manmeet Kaur, Professor of Health Promotion, School of Public Health & Community Medicine, PGIMER emphasized the role of advocacy in the implementation of newer vaccines.

 Ms. Molly Saur, Deputy Director, Policy, Advocacy & Communications, International Vaccine Access Centre Johns-Hopkins University stressed we need to deal with vaccine hesitancy to increase the acceptance of newer vaccines in the community.

Mr. Daniel Erchick, Senior Director, Global Health Strategies, New Delhi, mentioned that there is need to convert the evidence related to reduction of disease burden by use of effective vaccine to health policy.

Chandigarh 25^th July:-Former PPCC chief HS Hanspal has been appointed as Chairman of Punjab Energy Development Authority ( PEDA) by Punjab CM, Captain Amarinder Singh.

He took charge of office at PEDA office in sector 33 here on Wednesday evening.

Among others former Punjab CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal , cabinet ministers Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and Aruna Chaudhary, former Central Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and Chairman of the Punjab Mandi Board, Lal Singh were also presented during occasion. 

Hanspal has been former Member of Parliament in Rajya sabha for two terms. He became chief of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee during last Congress government in Punjab.

He was also appointed as Member of National Commission for Minorities (govt of India). Presently he is President of Namdhari Darbar.

On his appointment, Hanspal thanked Punjab CM for appointing him PEDA Chairman. 

While taking charge, HS Hanspal hoped to solve the farmers problem by providing solar power solution for pumping water for agricultural utilization . This will solve power and economic problem in a big way, he maintained.
