Chandigarh 12th July:-A 3-year old  boy has undergone a successful pediatric cardiac surgery for two holes in heart and a narrowed passage of blood going to lungs at a Panchkula private hospital recently.

Giving details, Dr. Virendar Sarwal director-cardiothoracic & vascular surgery at Ojas Hospital, who performed surgery along with his team including Dr Ajay Sinha and Dr Praveen Nayak said that the child with congenital heart disease had two large holes in the heart with narrowed passage taking blood to lungs and failure to thrive. Both the holes were closed with a synthetic patch and narrowed passage was opened and enlarged with pericardial patch. The second hole in muscular part of septum is always difficult. But child responded to surgery well.

Dr Sarwal further said that considering a birth prevalence of congenital heart disease as 9/1000, the estimated number of children born with congenital heart disease in India is more than 200,000 per year.

Of these, about one-fifth are likely to have serious defect, requiring an intervention in the first year of life, he remarked.

He said that a baby's heart begins to develop at conception, but is completely formed by eight weeks into the pregnancy. Congenital heart defects happen during this crucial first eight weeks of the baby's development,

Dr. Virendar Sarwal said that specific steps must take place in order for the heart to form correctly. Often, congenital heart defects are a result of one of these crucial steps not happening at the right time. For example, a hole is left where a dividing wall should have formed, or a single blood vessel is left, where two should have been.

Meanwhile another complicated case of 4-yr old child with hole in heart was also treated successfully at Ojas recently.

Retired Public Sector Bankers Raise Issue Of Unfair Deal Regarding Pension

Chandigarh 15th July:-Different Associations of retired officers of public sector banks held a press conference regarding their pending issues of pension anomalies and skewed policy related to medical reimbursement.

The conference was spearheaded by All India Punjab National Bank Retired Officers Association, which was represented by its Vice President-H.L. Aggarwal. Several Banks' pensioners' association office bearers and members spoke against the unfair treatment meted out to Senior citizen (pensioners of public sector banks), by the central government.

While addressing the gathering, H.L. Aggarwal, Vice President of All India Punjab National Bank Retired Officers Association said that pension was introduced in 1995 with the assurance that the pension rules would be framed similar to Government of India or the RBI rules. This did not happen till date. Moreover, though salary kept increasing for working employees but the revision of pension never took place. This created an anomaly due to which a situation has come, where the pension of earlier retired manager is even less than that of present day retire peon.

Clarifying further he said that "Since 1995, pension revision never took place. Since then no policy has been framed for the pensioners, which has created a wide discrimination in the pensions of early retirees and those retiring at a later date.

H.L. Aggarwal, Vice President of All India Punjab National Bank Retired Officers Association said that he  wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Narendra Modi over the pension issues of public sector banks' pensioners (senior citizens), calling for further intervention in the matter at the highest level.

The pensioners of the different banks highlighted the plight of all public sector bank retired employees' due to the non -revision of pension issue.

Kuldeep Gupta, Area President of PNB Retired Officers Association of Chandigarh said that it's our long pending demand for the revision of pension of public sector banks. As we have been neglected for more than 25 years, so we demand that higher authorities personally look into this matter and render justice to us.

Another office bearer said that we demand an increase of the family pension from 15 percent to 30 percent for the retired officers to lead a reasonably good life.

The members demanded to stop the discrimination in the medical facility being provided to the working and nonworking employees.

They demanded to cover the retired employees by health insurance cover at the bank cost. As current premium demand is illogical and skewed. In the present policy, it is difficult for retired officers to bear abnormally high premium expenses from meager pension they received.

The members were hopeful that after formation of the new government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, their grievances would be properly attended to at the earliest.

H L Aggarwal informed that the PMO has forwarded a letter to the Secretary Department of Financial Services (Banking Division) for an early action, which has further forwarded the same to the IBA (Indian Banks' Association). However, when the retired bankers followed up with IBA officers they simply washed their hands off the issue and turned a blind eye to the senior citizens' problems.

Due to this type of attitude by the Finance Ministry and IBA (Indian Banks' Association) this issue has been lingering for the last 25 years which is making the pensioners suffer.

Mumbai 17th July:-Love in this monsoon has come in form of a heartbreak. India's biggest band, SANAM launches their latest track 'Jaane De Mujhe' in collaboration with VYRL Originals. The track tells us that sometimes mere love and commitment cannot suffice a relationship. Fate also has a role to play in it.

SANAM beautifully brings out the true meaning of love and its various essences though strong emotional lyrics by Kunaal Verma. The song is an ode reminiscing the love moments spent together. 'Jaane De Mujhe' explains that love alone cannot fix the cracks in a relationship regardless the intensity of the love.

Known for their covers, predominantly of the legendary Kishore Kumar, the band has created a niche for themselves in the music space. The four members of the band comprising, Sanam Puri, Samar Puri, Venky and Keshav portrays a vulnerable self, envisaging and delivering a gripping and passionate story which is beautifully directed by Prayrit Seth.

The video reflects Sanam Puri playing the lead role of a grief stricken and in-despair partner of his lady love who is suffering from mental health issues. Sanam tries hard to keep things together but love alone is not sufficient to keep the relationship going and eventually succumbs to fate.

VYRL Originals has been a leader in building up the non-film music culture and category in India. VYRL Originals and SANAM's partnership is a befitting association of music ideologies. Non-film music has been at the highest point of music charts across the nation and it's a rage amongst the youth who are looking for original and meaningful music today.

Ben Thomas, Business Manager of SANAM band, Founder & MD, Kurian & Co Talent Management, said that he  has stood his ground to support independent music, to have his artists play front in place of playing back and he has been open to associate with likeminded partners.  When he heard Vinit & entire VYRL Originals team speaking the same language with a whole lot of enthusiasm and artist centric approach, it felt like a victory of sorts. He is extremely positive about this association and truly believes this is just the beginning.

Band SANAM the YouTube sensational said that working on this song was a lot of fun. We sampled almost 12 different vocal mics along with 4 different preamps to see what works best for this song. Even the video shoot was a lot of fun. Working with Pooja and Prayrit was an amazing experience. Was so comfortable and they really took care of us. Every step of the way, the entire VYRL Originals team has always valued our inputs and tried their best to make changes that will work for us. Over all we are really excited to take this further with VYRL Originals and make some amazing music together.

On the Release of the song, Vinit Thakkar, Senior Vice President, Universal Music Group India & South Asia said that SANAM is a role model for any aspiring band in the country as they are undoubtedly the biggest and best band in India today. From singing covers to originals to developing an ardent fan base, the band has structured their journey impeccably so far. The band has chosen VYRL Originals as their first ever label association and we are thrilled to be working with them. With VYRL's artist centric approach, coupled with this unique association, He is confident that SANAM fans and non-film music lovers are bound to be enthralled like never before.
